AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro - RGB

The AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 is a water cooler optimised for the AMD AM5 platform, featuring a nickel-plated copper baseplate and RGB lighting. Compared to the standard version, the Pro version offers a hybrid structure of microfins and reduced flow resistance. The direct-die cooler is placed directly on the silicon of the delidded AMD CPU.

The AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 features a hybrid structure with two different sizes of microfins and a jet plate for optimised flow. The cooler's cold plate is made of nickel-plated copper and is mounted directly on the CPU chip. For this, the Socket Actuation Mechanism (SAM) of the motherboard is removed, and the processor must be delidded. The nickel plating of the cooler plate creates a barrier layer, preventing gallium-based liquid metal from diffusing into the copper, making multiple applications of liquid metal usually unnecessary.

Between the cold plate and the anodised aluminium cover, there is acrylic glass, which undergoes an annealing process after milling to relieve internal stress. This ensures that no stress cracks form in the acrylic glass over time, unlike hardened acrylic glass. RGB LEDs are located under the aluminium cover and are controlled via a 3-pin ARGB header (+5V/DATA/GND) through the motherboard. The LEDs illuminate the acrylic glass under the cover and the G1/4-inch connectors on the cover.

Attention: Removing the heatspreader (“delidding”) of a processor is at your own risk! The manufacturer's warranty expires when the CPU is delidded! Damage caused by delidding the CPU is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty!

Removing the Socket Actuation Mechanism (SAM) of the mainboard may invalidate the manufacturer's warranty of the mainboard manufacturer!

Attention: The Mycro Direct-Die RGB is NOT COMPATIBLE with the APUs of the Ryzen 8000G series!

Note on Ryzen 9000 Compatibility

The AM5 Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 is, according to Thermal Grizzly internal testing, compatible with AMD's Ryzen-9000 and 9000X3D processor series (as of Nov 2024).
