The NH-L9x65 chromax.black is an all-black version of the award-winning NH-L9x65 low-profile coolers, which covers a middle ground between the larger NH-L12 series and the ultra-compact NH-L9i and NH-L9a series, With 65 instead of 37mm height and four instead of two heatpipes, the NH-L9x65 is more powerful than its smaller siblings yet retains their 95x95mm footprint, which not only guarantees 100% RAM and PCIe compatibility on current motherboards but also makes the cooler more convenient to work with as it doesn’t overhang near-socket connectors. Thanks to the highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan that supports fully automatic speed control via PWM, the NH-L9x65 runs remarkably quiet. The NH-L9x65 chromax.black is black from head to toe: featuring a black coated heatsink, a black fan with black anti-vibration pads, black fan clips and black mounting parts, it’s right at home in all-black builds and easy to integrate with other colour schemes.

65mm Low Profile

Due to its compact heatsink and the 14mm thin NF-A9x14 low profile fan, the NH-L9x65 stands only 65mm tall (the same height as low-profile expansion cards), which makes it ideal for use in compact HTPCs or Small Form Factor cases that offer limited clearance for CPU coolers.

100% RAM Compatibility

With its compact 95x95mm footprint, the NH-L9x65 does not overhang the RAM slots on Intel LGA1851/LGA1700/LGA1200/LGA115x and AMD AM5/AM4 based motherboards, which ensures easy access to the modules and 100% compatibility with DIMMs that feature tall heat-spreaders or RGB lighting.

100% Compatibility with PCIe Cards

Many mini-ITX motherboards have the PCIe slot sitting close to the socket zone. While larger coolers that exceed this zone are likely to block the PCIe slot, the 95x95mm sized NH-L9x65 provides full compatibility with PCIe cards, be it on ATX, microATX or ITX.

Easy Access to Near-Socket Connectors

Many low-profile coolers use larger fans or heatsinks in order to achieve sufficient cooling performance, but protruding over the socket zone, they make it difficult or even impossible to reach near-socket connectors on tightly packed ITX mainboards. Thanks to its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-L9x65 provides easy access to all connectors and components.

NF-A9x14 PWM Premium Fan

The highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan features Noctua's proprietary AAO frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. Supporting PWM for fully automatic speed control, the NF-A9x14 allows the NH-L9x65 to stay remarkably quiet.

Low-Noise Adaptor

Allowing the maximum speed of the NF-A9x14 PWM fan to be reduced from 2500 to 1800rpm, the included Low-Noise Adaptor (LNA) makes it possible to achieve near-silent setups with suitable CPUs that only create smaller heat loads.

SecuFirm2™ Multi-Socket Mounting System

Noctua’s SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and easy installation. Supporting Intel LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156) and AMD AM5 and AM4, the SecuFirm2™ mounting included with the NH-L9x65 is straightforward to install, provides perfect contact pressure and will stand the test of time even under heavy use.

Offset Mounting Option for AMD AM5

The NH-L9x65 chromax.black includes Noctua’s offset mounting bars for AM5 that make it possible to install the cooler shifted towards the south side of the socket by 7mm, thereby achieving better contact quality right above the CCD(s). This improved contact exactly at the processor’s hotspot can significantly reduce CPU temperatures with typical improvements in the range of 1-3°C.

Compatibility with Past and Future Sockets

Thanks to Noctua’s SecuFirm™ ecosystem, the NH-L9x65 chromax.black can be made compatible with the older LGA2066, LGA2011, LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-i20xx and NM-I3 mounting kits, which are provided free of charge on request. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide upgrade kits for future sockets, which makes the NH-L9x65 a safe long-term investment.
