Features

Monsgeek M2 DIY Kit - Black

M2 is a 1800 compact QMK and south-facing aluminium barebone keyboard.

1800 compact layout are efficient, and ideal for users who want to maintain the full-size of the keyboard while saving desk space.

Note: M2 requires 2 x 1.5u function keys (ALT/FN) at R1.It is compatible with Akko MDA / SAL profile keycaps. Given M2 intl' version is QMK programmable, users can literally program any key; Hence, any keycap sets with alternate 1.5u R1 keys are theoretically compatible with M2 such as Marrs Green, World Tour Tokyo Cherry Profile etc. Please also note that not all barebone keyboards support all types of keycap sets.

1800 compact layout offers essential function keys and the number pad from full-size while minimizing desk usage.

Gasket Mounted Style

With the Gasket-mounted structure, the isolation between the plate and the case gives a unique sound and feel compared to other mounting styles.

South Facing PCB

The south-facing PCB of the M2 avoids causing interference with Cherry profile keycaps, offering more compatibility and flexibility.

New Silver Accent

While M2 silver comes with golden accent, MonsGeek has picked the new silver accent on other models. MonsGeek will start to offer standalone accent for sale to better personalize each unit based on user preference.

N Key Rollover

The N-Key Rollover technology allows all keys to work simultaneously and ensures every keystroke is recorded and prevents ghosting.

Engraved Back Design

M2 QMK version has adopted the new engraved back design with re-sized sticker for aesthetics purposes.

Stabilizers

PCB Mount/Screw-in stabilizers tend to vibrate less.M2 uses Akko transparent white stabilizers (un-assembled) with nylon housing in case users want to lubricate.

QMK/VIA

MonsGeek M2 supports VIA for cross-platform (Linux/Mac/Windows) advanced keyboard configuration.

This feature is exclusively for international version of M2.

PET Insulation Layer

A PET insulation layer has been added to the bottom case in order to prevent any short circuit issues. It's rare for these issues to occur but we want to add extra protection.

  • Extra tape for users who wish to perform a tape mod.
  • MonsGeek includes a default 3mm custom-made foam for a balanced feeling.

Disclaimer: The foam will affect the overall sound profile and flex.
