AMD Branding

With improved user-friendly features and extensive hardware support, the Observatory Y AMD is an updated version of the Observatory range. Making this premium PC case stand out even further, the front and side tempered glass panelling are adorned with AMD branding. With this chassis, you can showcase RGB lighting and your hardware, all whilst supporting Team Red. The side panel is hinged and held in place with a magnetic tab. As a result, the interior chamber is easy to access whilst keeping the premium finish. The 0.7mm SPCC steel frame offers great stability and support for all the hardware you’d like to install and display in this mid-tower case.

Premium Cooling

The Umbra ARGB/PWM fans not only add a splash of colour, but they bolster the cooling performance of the Observatory Y AMD. Four fans are pre-installed, with three 120mm fans upon the front panel and a single 140mm fan on the rear. As PWM fans, their speed scales depending on need – increasing for higher workloads, and slowing down for whisper-quiet operation when not required. Thanks to their Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing, they operate with reduced friction which increases component longevity.

Alternatively, there is extensive support for fans and radiators across the chassis. In fact, the Observatory Y AMD is ideal for water-cooling hardware. In addition to the 120mm fans, the front panel can host three 140mm fans or up to a 360mm radiator. Upon the top panel, there is support for three 120mm or two 140mm fans, as well as up to a 360mm radiator. The rear panel can hold a singular fan or radiator, either 120mm or 140mm. What’s more, there is clearance for a CPU cooler up to 175mm tall. With this comprehensive support and spacious interior, there is ample room for a dual-radiator loop to keep your gaming PC at optimum temperature.

Flexible Hardware Options

Affording you great installation flexibility, the Observatory Y AMD can accommodate for a wide range of gaming hardware. All common motherboard form factors, including E-ATX, can be mounted on the backplate. The rear panel has seven expansion slots and is compatible with vertical GPU mounting, with the Kolink Vertical GPU Kit (sold separately). There is clearance for a triple-slot 380mm long graphics card, whether mounted vertically or horizontally.

The PSU shroud is its own dedicated chamber, with easy to remove panels that make accessing this small area that much simpler. There is space for an ATX form factor PSU, up to 190mm long, as well as a drive cage capable of holding two 3.5” HDDs or two 2.5” SSDs. What’s more, there are three mounts for 2.5” SSDs on the rear side of the motherboard backplate, for flexible storage options. This tray is removeable making installation of the SSDs incredibly easy.

Connectivity and Cable Management

To keep the interior of your Observatory Y AMD neat and tidy, there is dedicated cable management integrated within the design. With 27mm of space and three Velcro straps, cables can be routed and contained behind the motherboard backplate. What’s more, the I/O panel is situated above this area, to further help with organising cables.

Keeping you connected, the I/O panel features two USB 3.1, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, and one USB 2.0 ports, HD audio and microphone jacks, as well as buttons for power, resetting, and RGB control.
