The Ducky Year of the Rat Edition RGB Mech Keyboard blends the traditional artwork of a Taiwanese graffiti artist, Bounce with the technology and function of a mechanical keyboard. Limited to 2020 individually numbered units world wide, and featuring a unique design, this keyboard is a true functional artwork. The Year of the Rat keyboard is based on the newest version of Ducky's hot-swappable keyboard, representing the attitude of refusing to be limited by challenges. The PBT keycaps are finished in grey with dye sublimated characters, along with various graffiti elements.

The Ducky Year of the Rat Edition RGB Mech Keyboard features a 60% keyboard design that is hotswappable, a unique Year of the Rat Edition designed frame and keycaps, Cherry MX red switches, full N-Key Rollover via USB-C, adjustable keyboard feet, RGB backlighting, dual-layer PCB, and includes additional keycaps, Ducky Year of the Rat desk mat, keycap and switch puller, and a mechanical switch keyring.

Story behind the keyboard

Bounce - Graffiti artist
Taiwanese Graffiti Artist, Bounce, who has been making graffiti artwork for 16 years, is the first Taiwanese to bring this popular form of art to the international stage. From the beginning of his career as a painter-storyteller under bridges, he has turned into an adventurer in the city forest. The artist has now traveled throughout the globe, making history with his paint cans. Bounce, who integrates beauty with rebellion, always challenges viewers with a different level of experience. Asked about his art, Bounce said: “although my thoughts change with the environment and my fictional characters keep evolving, my original passion for graffiti has not changed at all. In the future, I won’t place any limits on myself and will try out different styles and media".

Art design

Dye-sublimation techniques featuring various graffiti elements
The artist has left his graffiti characters on the keycaps. Which look like they're on a brick wall, to the green mist arising from the keycaps. This allows him to hide and wittily contrasts the color around the mist. Above the mist, there are some familiar traffic symbols, aiding “Bounce Mouse” for his sense of direction when he travels and paints during the night.
